About Us

William (Bud) Boyd, DVM, was born and raised in the Texas hill country. He graduated from Burnet HS where he was one of the "boys of the Boys Ranch." Dr. Boyd's interest in helping animals grew out of one of his youthful chores of riding horseback over his home's 5000 acres searching for ill range stock.

Dr. Boyd's formal education, which began at East Texas Baptist College (Marshall, TX), was 'interrupted' by eleven years service in the U.S. Navy where he served aboard submarines. After leaving the Navy, Boyd went on to graduate from Texas A&M University with a BA in 1972 and then earned a DVM from Texas A&M in 1973. Dr. Boyd had veterinary practices in Mason, TX and Porta, TX before moving back to Marshall, TX.
